Information about the tank:

• The development of the German tank destroyer Jaguar 1 was based on the development of the Kanonenjagdpanzer 90.
• It is the successor of the Raketenjagdpanzer 2 which was equipped with 2 SS-11 starters after tests with the rocket launcher system HOT were successfullly finished. The tanks were converted between 1978 and 1983 and equipped with additional armour.
• The Jaguar 1 is equipped with a German-French anti tank missile system HOT. HOT = Haut subsonique Optiquement Teleguide = hig subsonic optical control.
• Until the end of 2005 Jaguar 1 tanks were retired in the German army (Bundeswehr).
• Jaguar 1 have been used by the austrian army as well since 1995/96 but they should have been reitred since the beginning of 2006.
• A Jaguar 1 is displayed in the tank museum "Panzermuseum Munster" in Germany.
