- Artitec 6870399 US M7 Priest tank howitzer olive green in the scale 1/87
- Ready built and painted model in olive green.
Information about the tank:
- The M7 Priest was the first mentionable self propelled howitzer of the US army.
- 1941 the US army tried to mount the 105 mm howitzer on a tank chassis.
- The chassis of the M3 (Grant / Lee) proved to be a good choice as there were many available.
- Later the chassis of the M4A3 (Sherman) was used as well.
- The first prototypes were critizised as they had no weapon against aircrafts.
- A heavy machine gun was put on an armoured mount whoch looked like a pulpit.
- So the M7 was named „Priest“.
- The british counterpart was equipped with a 25 pounder gun. It was called „Sexton“.
- Some M7 were changed to reconnaisance tanks and mechanized infantry tanks which were called „Kangaroo“. They were able to carry 20 infantrists, when the gun was dismounted.
