Information about the tank:

After being surprised by the russian T-34 tank in the year 1941 with its sloping armour and better moveability than any existing german tank, the german Wehrmacht decided to produce a tank which had to be concurrable to the T-34.
The result was the Panzerkapfwagen V Panther.
It entered the battlefield in the battle of Kursk in 1943.
Many of the first tanks had mechanical problems but they proved to be superior to existing russian tanks in this year, being outperformed by the Josef Stalin tank which appeared in 1944.
The Panther received the status of the best german tank for many and the americans stated after the war hat it was the best medium tank of all combatants in world war II.
A Panther in running condition is owned by the "Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung" in Koblenz, Germany.
