Ready buildt and painted US army tank model in MERDC camouflage.
- From the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s the US forces vehicles were painted with a MERDC camouflage pattern.
- Different camouflage patterns were used with a mixture of 9 different colours. Each pattern consisted of 4 different colours. 2 primary and 2 secondary colours. For example olive green and brown as primary colours with a coverage of 45% each and sand colour and black as secondary colours with a coverage of 5% each.
- MERDC stands for Mobility Equipment Research & Development Command.
Information about the tank:
- The M88 is an armored recovery vehicle (ARV) which uses many parts of the M48 and M60 Patton tanks.
- It was developed 1958, introduced in 1961 and until the end of production in 1964 about 1000 recovery tanks were produced.
- Its primary role is to repair and replace damaged parts in fighting vehicles under fire.
- Additionally to extricate vehicles that became bogged down or entangled.
- The winch has a power of appr. 45 tons
- The crane has a power of appr. 25 tons.
