In world war I, more than 2500 FT tanks were produced for the French army.

In world war II the French army still had more than 2500 FT tanks in a modern version but they were obsolete in comparison to German tanks.

The German Wehrmacht captured more than 1700 of these tanks and used more than 500 of them in world war II.

An Renault FT tank is displayed in the Bovington tank museum in England and in the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz, Germany.
